ABOUT THE EVENT
What is Equity Conference 2020?
The San Diego County Office of Education is dedicated to providing districts and schools with the supports leaders and educators need to nurture safe and inclusive learning environments for all students.
SDCOE's statewide Equity Conference will be a valuable time for county offices, districts, schools, community partners, and parents to collaborate and learn together on how to engage effective, systemic change.
It will bring together nationally recognized speakers and spotlights current research and best practices. The Equity Conference sessions are focused on strengthening our systems to better respond to the linguistic, cultural, social-emotional, and mental health needs of all students, and create the conditions for them to thrive and make healthy choices.
Our breakout sessions are organized into five overarching strands:
- Culture and Climate
- Family and Community Engagement
- Mental Health and Wellness
As well as six sub-strand focus areas:
- Cultural Responsiveness
- Disproportionate Representation and Access
- Homeless and Foster Youth
- LGBTQ+ Youth
- Multilingual Learners
- Students with Disabilities
We look forward to seeing you at EC2020!
